Ordering
Order Process
To place an order with BDC on this website just follow the procedure below:
1. Choose the product you would like to purchase by using the Find a Product search box or by navigating the product categories on the left side of the site.
2. Once you have found the product, click on the ‘add to basket’ button. You are able to do this either from the list pages or the product information page.
3. You now see your item in the first of 4 steps of your shopping basket. If you wish to change the quantity please use the + and - buttons displayed either side of the quantity box. If you wish to delete any item, click the x button displayed to the left of the Product Name and the page will automatically update. If you wish to add more items to your basket click on the ‘continue shopping’ button. When you have added all your items into your basket click on the ‘Checkout’ button.
4. If you have not previously registered on our website, you will be required to do so at this stage in order to continue with your order. You will need to register either as a Home or Business user. If you are a returning visitor to the site, simply enter your email address and password in the relevant boxes.
5. You will now be asked to confirm both your Billing and Delivery addresses in step 2 of 4. Please note that, for security purposes, the Billing Address must be the same as registered address of debit or credit card you will be using to make your purchase. You can change your addresses at this step if necessary. You can also add a new delivery address for this order if you require your order to be delivered to a different address to that of your usual delivery address, e.g. you may require the order to be delivered to your work address rather than your home address.
6. You will now be asked to enter your credit or debit card details. Please select the type of credit card you wish to pay with, i.e. Visa, Mastercard etc. Then enter the card details as requested. When completed please click the ‘Place Order' button. Please note that we use a secure payment gateway (Protx) to encrpyt and transmit your card details to the card issuer. The card issuer will then authorise or decline the transaction and securely send back the results to our website. IMPORTANT: BDC use a 'Deferred' transaction process which means we obtain an authorisation, from the card issuer, at the time of the transaction in exactly the same way as a real-time payment. A 'shadow' for the transaction amount is placed on the card until we are in a position to release the payment when the goods are ready for despatching from our warehouse. Unlike many online businesses, we do not take your money until we are ready to deliver your goods.
7. You will now proceed to Step 4 of 4 which is the Order Confirmation page. This page will show you your order reference number which you should quote in all future correspondence about the order.
8. Within a couple minutes after placing your order, you will receive an acknowledgement email from us, acknowledging receipt of your order. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTANCE OF YOUR ORDER AND NO BINDING CONTRACT HAS BEEN MADE UNTIL THE GOODS ARE DESPATCHED.
9. Our Sales Team will contact you within 24 hours to confirm the details of your order as well as any further security checks we may need to carry out. We should also be able to confirm the delivery date via our preferred carrier for you at the time of calling you.
