We are one of very few wholesalers in the UK to carry large stocks.  At our national distribution in North London, we currently stock over 5,000 lines enabling us to satisfy even the very biggest orders from customers.

Our heritage

Bridisco - The British Distributing Company - was established in 1961. It was one of the UK’s largest independently owned wholesaler and distributor of electrical goods including small appliances, major appliances, electrical components, security systems, lighting and consumer electronics.  Recently, Bridisco had been experiencing trading difficulties and liquidity constraints which, combined with losing credit insurance, resulted in the business going into administration. Alan Hudson and Roy Bailey of Ernst & Young LLP were appointed as joint administrators of the company on 21st November 2008.

However, the name BDC lives on in electrical distribution as a result of a management buy-out (MBO) by three of the former entity’s senior management team on the 19th December 2008. We continue to offer independent electrical retailers, tradesman and manufacturers a highly focussed route to market backed up by a team with many years of experience in the distribution/wholesale trade.

BDC now operates out of five trade centres around the M25 area with national distribution being serviced from our 7.5 acre warehouse HQ in London.
